Fondella Scott Green

November 26, 1942 — March 3, 2012

On Saturday, March 3, 2012, the Angel of Silence came and closed the last chapter in the life of our love one, Mrs. Fondella Scott Green. She was born November 26, 1942 to the late Willie Floyd and Lizzie Mae Eason Scott in Martin County. Fondella graduated from East End High School in 1960 and from Elizabeth CIty State College which is now Elizabeth City State University in 1965 with a BS Degree in Business. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Fondella retired as a Personal Banker from Wachovia and Atlantic Savings Banks. She joined Roberson Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a member of the usher board and the youth choir. When she moved to Williamston, NC, she joined Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of her departure, she was an active member of Covenant Church in Denton, Texas. Fondella married Edward Green. To this union three daughters and one son were born. A daughter, Tracey, predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her lovely memories: two daughters, Sonya Yvette Green and Gennifer Green Rouson (Travis) of Savannah, TX; one son, Edward Stacy Green (Helga) of Germany; two adopted daughters, Debra H. Armstrong (Butch) of Robersonville, NC and Barbara Buskey of Savannah, TX; one adopted son, Troy Hines (Celesta) of Portsmouth, VA; three sisters, Faye Scott Duckett (Charlie) of Hampton, VA; Valarie Scott of New York and Clementine Scott of DuPont, Washington; four brothers, Willie Floyd Scott, Jr.(Alice) of Mount Clemens, MI; Franklin Gray Scott (Eula Faye) of Williamston, NC; Willie Scott of Brooklyn, NY and Richard Scott of Bowie, MD. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at Manson Mortuary, Inc. Williamston, NC and at other times at the residence of her brother, Franklin Gray Scott on 900 W. Church Street, Williamston, NC. The service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Roberson Missionary Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC with Rev. Larry Green officiating. Burial will follow at Robersonville Memorial Gardens in Robersonville, NC.
