Williamston, NC Mr. George Davenport, Jr., 90, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Martin General Hospital. Mr. Davenport, Jr. was born in Martin County. He was a member of Mt. Zion Holiness Church in Williamston, NC. Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Davenport Hooper of Williamston, NC and Janice Faye Williams of Connecticut; one brother, Saunders Davenport of Maryland; one sister, Vaola D. Huff of Capital Heights, MD; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Manson Mortuary in Williamston, NC and from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Manson Mortuary Chapel in Williamston, NC with Rev. Vincent Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
