Williamston, NC Mr. George Lester Land, 85, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 in Martin General Hospital. Mr. Land was born in Martin County. He was a member of Back Swamp Church of Christ (DOC) in Williamston, NC. Survivors include wife, Mary C. Land of Williamston, NC; two sons, Michael A. Land, Sr. of Williamston, NC and Reginald E. Land of Durham, NC; one daughter, Mildred L. Holley of Windsor, NC; one sister, Ollie M. Rogers of Portsmouth, VA; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A visitation and viewing will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Back Swamp Church (DOC) in Williamston, NC with Elder Derrick L. Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Land-Fields Family Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
