Mr. Johnnie Peele, the son of the late Ivory Orange Peele and the late Millie Ann Spruill Peele
was born on February 2, 1938 in Williamston, NC. He went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2018.
Johnnie was united to the late Martha Brown Peele on June 15, 1957 after sixty years, parents,
and his grandson, Isaiah Yates.
At an early age, he joined St. John Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ which he loved dearly.
He started attending Christian Fellowship Outreach when his health begin to decline.
He graduated from E.J. Hayes High School in Williamston, NC in 1956. He served in the US Army.
He retired from Weyerhauser in New Bern, NC after over 38 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memories: six daughters – Pastor Vickie Peele-Murphy (Lawrence) of
New Bern, NC; Sheila Peele-Miller (Sylvester) and Beverly Peele-Redman (Eric) of Chicago, IL;
Jennifer Peele-Adderley of Charlotte, NC; Tyneshia Manning Parker (Alfonzo) of Washington, NC
and Kaye Clemmons of Williamston, NC; grandchildren reared in the home, Natasha and Quandrel of
Charlotte, NC and Charnell of Chicago, IL; sister, Eva Gray Hodges of Washington, NC and
brother, Curtis L. Peele (Diane) of Williamston, NC, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren;
and a host of other special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Manson
Mortuary in Williamston, NC.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at
11:00 am at St. John Church of Christ in Washington, NC with
Pastor Russell Wilkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
