Joyce Staton Higgs

Williamston, NC Ms. Joyce Staton Higgs, 64, passed away on September 7, 2013 in Martin General Hospital. Ms. Higgs was born in Martin County. She was a member of Simon Grove Holiness Church. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Daugherty of Knightdale, NC and Donald Daugherty of Plymouth, NC; three daughters, Trina Wilson of Williamston, NC, Joyce Allen of Winterville, NC, and Sametria Frazier of Norfolk, Va.; six brothers, Charlie Brown of Chesapeake, Va., Ernest Brown of Portsmouth, Va., Horace Staton of Rocky Mount, NC, Nelson Staton of Raleigh, NC, James Staton of Robersonville, NC, and Ronald Staton of Portsmouth, Va.; two sisters, Mary Mabry of Chesapeake, Va., and Cora Staton of Jamaica, NY; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-5 pm on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Simon Grove Holiness Church in Wilson, NC with Bishop Herbert Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Robersonville Memorial Gardens.
