Williamston, NC Mrs. Martha Harris Brown, 97, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at home. Mrs. Brown was born in Martin County. She was a member of Back Swamp Church of Christ in Williamston, NC. Survivors include five sons, Arthur "Funny" Brown of Williamston, NC, Robert Brown of Williamston, NC, James Melvin Brown of Williamston, NC, William Brown of Williamston, NC, and Jimmy Ray Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one daughter, Dorothy B. Wilder of Williamston, NC; two brothers, Haywood Harris of Williamston, NC and Walter Milton Harris of Williamston, NC; 25 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC and from 12 Noon to 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston, NC with Elder Derrick L. Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
