Mary Roberts Andrews

Robersonville, NC Mrs. Mary R. Andrews, 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Greenville, NC. She attended public schools in Edenton, NC, graduating from Edenton High School in 1950. She received her BS Degree from Elizabeth City State College in 1954 and received her M.A. Ed. from East Carolina University. She held numerous teaching positions throughout her career and was appointed as a school principal in 1973 with the Martin County School System. She retired in 1993 after serving as an educator for 39 years including 14 years as the principal of Williamston Primary School. She was a member of Roberson Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC and a member of the Lambda Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Survivors are her husband John M. Andrews of the home, her son Alan and wife Lynne of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandson; Evan Andrews of Winston-Salem, NC; and a sister; Catherine B. Springfield of San Diego, CA. There will be a viewing on Friday, August 5 from 1-5 pm at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC and 7-8 at Manson Memorial Chapel in Robersonville, NC and Saturday, August 6 at 11:30 am at Roberson Baptist Church, Robersonville, NC. The funeral will follow at 12 noon on Saturday August 6, 2011 at Roberson Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Robersonvile Memorial Gardens, in Robersonville, NC.
