Mary Gladys Slade

Williamston, NC Mrs. Mary Gladys "Baby" Slade, 85 passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at Martin General Hospital. She was born in Martin County and was a tobacco factory worker at W. I. Skinner. Survivors are her sons, Dennis Slade of Durham, NC, Larry Slade of Ft. Washington, MD, James Slade of Fredericksburg, VA and Robert Slade of Durham, NC. Daughters, Shelia Thompson of Durham, NC and Shirley Carter of New York. She has two surviving sisters, Florine Clark of Williamston, NC and Hattie McClain of Charlotte, NC. There are 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-5 pm on Thursday, September 15 at Manson Mortuary, Williamston, NC and Friday, September 16 from 12-1 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 16 at 1:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church, Williamston, NC. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
