Mrs. Gladys Clemmons Purvis, 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Vidant Hospital-Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Purvis was born in Martin County. She was a member of Back Swamp Church of Christ in Williamston, NC.
Survivors include five sons, Robert Purvis of Greensboro, NC, Garcia Purvis of Williamston, NC, Avery Purvis of Williamston, NC, Shelby Purvis of Massachusetts and Brian Purvis of Williamston, NC; five daughters, Gladys C. Armstrong of Goldsboro, NC, Eulah P. Rodgers of Roxbury, MA, Linda Purvis of Massachusetts, Earlina Giovanni of NJ, and Micki Sisco of VA; one sister, Myrtle Broadus of Suffolk, VA; and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 2-3:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Back Swamp Church of Christ.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Back Swamp Church of Christ in Williamston, NC with Pastor Derrick L. Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Back Swamp Church Cemetery.
