Williamston, NC Ms. Nora R. Lanier Rushmore (Shahidah Mateen), 86, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Martin General Hospital. Ms. Rushmore was born in Martin County. Survivors include two daughters, Rita Daniels of Washington, DC and Sonya Rushmore (Tauheedah). A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 1-5 pm at Manson Mortuary in Williamston, NC. The funeral service will be on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12 Noon at Manson Mortuary Chapel in Williamston, NC with Rev. Reginald Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitley Cemetery, Williamston, NC.
