Williamston, NC Mrs. Shirley Jean Herrington, 75, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Vident Medical Center. Mrs. Herrington was born in Martin County. She was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ (DOC) in Williamston, NC. Survivors include her husband, George Herrington of Philadelphia, PA; one son, McGarrett Smith of Williamston, NC; six daughters, Shirley Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Glenda Williams of Williamston, NC, Sheila Howard of Williamston, NC, Gail Stanley of Ahoskie, NC, Valeria Whitley of Williamston, NC, and Sonia Crandell of Williamston, NC; one brother, Alton Rhodes of Williamston, NC; four sisters, Maggie Andrews of Williamston, NC, Minnie Jenkins of Williamston, NC, Judy Reddick of Williamston, NC and Mary Rhodes of Williamston, NC; and 19 grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Manson Mortuary, Inc. Williamston, NC. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at United Holy Church of Deliverance in Williamston, NC with Bishop Jerome Wilson doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
