Willard Claxter Moses

Williamston – Mr. W.C. Moses, age 91, passed away on December 13, 2020. He was a lifelong

contributor of Jamesville High School and the Williamston community, and graduate of Shepherd

High School and Elizabeth City State University. He was married for 66 years to his beloved wife,

Ollie Moses. He had two children Cornel T. Moses married to Olivia Moses and Indira M. Everett married

to Roosevelt Everett. He was so proud of his grandsons Tyrone A. Moses, Aaron T. Moses and

Roosevelt Everett III and great grandsons, Alexander T. Moses, Tyrese C. Moses and Aaron T. Moses II.

He also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends.

W.C. was an Army veteran and spent 3 and a half years in service to his country. He fought in the

Korean War where he won five bronze stars in 1950 and was honorably discharged in June, 1952.

After attending Elizabeth City State University, he also did graduate work at Hampton University

and East Carolina University.

W.C. retired from Jamesville High School after teaching and ending his career as an Assistant

Principal for 31 years. His motto was always be “Friendly, Firm, Fair and Consistent”. W.C. loved children

and his students and many kept in contact with him over the years, honoring him annually on his

birthday with a personal visit.

He was a devoted church member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he was held

in high esteem for being a prayer warrior, Sunday school teacher, trustee and other leadership roles.

The family will have a private viewing on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 1-1:30 pm

followed by a public viewing from 2-7 p.m. at Manson Mortuary in Williamston while adhering

strictly to social distancing protocol. On Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. a private service

of designated family and participants will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC. Both viewings

and graveside service will be live streamed by going to the Manson Mortuary website at

www.MansonMortuary.com and clicking on his obituary.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jamesville Elementary School and mail to P. O. Box 190,

Jamesville, NC, 27846. In memo line put “In Memory of W.C. Moses.
